Often, marijuana growers who have their plants in indoor grow tents or rooms with artificial lighting, take into account parameters such as temperature and relative humidity to maximize plants growth and bloom, thus obtaining abundant harvest with top quality flowers. As we will see later, these factors affect different processes of the plant, such as transpiration or nutrient uptake. However, we usually forget about another important factor that is related to the aforementioned ones: vapor pressure deficit or VPD. Broadly speaking, VPD is the difference between the amount of water vapor that the atmosphere is able to retain (which depends on temperature) and the amount of water vapor contained in it (relative humidity). It is usually measured in kilopascals (kPa). Providing our plants with a correct relationship between temperature and relative moisture will keep us on the right VPD parameters, increasing the plant’s activity and thus improving its growth and showing its full potential during the flowering phase. The ideal would be to adjust both parameters (temperature and humidity) to get the best possible VPD value, so that the development of plants will be amazing.In the chart above you can see the right temperature and moisture values to maximize the development of cannabis plants. The green zone shows you optimal values of VPD, in which it would be ideal to maintain the environment. The orange zone shows correct values, in which plants should not have problems to develop normally. However, red areas show values in which your plants will be very far from hit their full potential, since the relation between temperature and moisture is not optimal. With relatively high values of VPD (between 5 and 12) plants tend to open their stomata and release a considerable amount of water vapor into the environment (increasing their transpiration). This increase in transpiration results in an increase in the plant’s photosynthetic activity, which will need more nutrients and will improve its overall growth, both during growth and bloom. The best range is between 7.5 and 10.5, which we have marked in green. However, we must be careful that VPD is not too high (dark red zone) since the plant would close its stomata to avoid releasing too much water vapor to the environment, which would result in fast dehydration due to excessive transpiration. On the other hand, if VPD is too low (light red zone), the plant will also close its stomata for not releasing more water into the atmosphere, which in this case would be already saturated (it would have reached the maximum water retention capacity in a specific temperature). In this way, reducing transpiration will also reduce photosynthesis, which has a direct impact on the plant’s development and yield. That way, VPD is essential when it comes to offer the best conditions for the development of plants, also to understand its water requirements according to the nutrients used and thus adjust them correctly to meet the grower’s expectations. Hi All, We are approaching harvest and will only use PHed water this week. Trichomes are mostly opaque and maybe 3-5% amber. This is my first time growing this strain so I don't know how she will finish. So I think I am going to chop part of it and leave the rest to ripen for another week. So stay tuned... ***Mid-week update*** Week 7 day 5 Made a cut and dried it for a day. Placed it under the microscope and took some photos and video. I think she has at least another week to go. I will only use Phed water this week. Maybe a molasses flush on week 7 day 7. Since this is my first time growing this strain and this is from seed so I might do a first cut and let it really mature for another week or two just to see if the bud will keep swelling up. Just letting the girl do her thing. she starting to give off grape notes when smelling fan leaves that have been cut. Night time temps and humidity were lower than normal. 65/45 at night with almost no humidity spikes.

Combined the very last week and harvest into one entry. Plants did ok other then the yellow plant or plant #3 gong hemi and pollinating the tent. I would try out their genetics again as they look descent, if I hit another hemri though I think that would be it for them. I reach out to them and asked if this was normal and got no reply. I will check the tent once its clean and free of stuff for light leaks aorund where plant #3 was to confirm it was not my environment. Plant #1 Red took it the worst. it had issues from mid flower but did not finish strong and was hurting a bit. Nice smell over all. Will be transforming all this into bubble hash with a machine I got and some bubble bags. Don't know when I'll do this but that's the plan. God about 10oz of buds 293.5g/10.48oz It was not 100% dry yet but popped it into the freezer to keep it fresh. La planta viene creciendo bien y ha superado con éxito el transplante, creció 11 cms de una semana a otra, las hojas están lindas, se regó con micorrizas 1ml x litro y 2ml x litro de oro negro de namaste, para complementar un poco mas en esta etapa.veremos que sucede mas adelante.

End of week 6 and the girls are looking great! Gave them a good defoliation first day of the week (day 41 from seed) because I couldn't get the humidity below 65%. Glad I did, they were so bushy and lots of little branches in the middle, now so much cleaner and much much more airflow. Not sure if because of trimming but they barely grew this week. Blueberry is typically a bit shorter though so may just be the strain. Three plants look very similar with one plant looking 5-7 days behind.
