I did a few things differently than I usually do since I’ve been having problems with germination lately. I’ve grown strawpicanna before, so I know it’s not exactly an easy cultivar. Still, I experimented, and sometimes experiments fail. I’m not crying over it though - things happen in the garden you just gotta grow with the flow. 😝😝 I still have some things in the works. Just got a 10 pack of Blueberry Rose from Lovin In Her Eyes so I’ll be back with a fresher and hopefully far better diary in a few days.

Temp, Humidity & VPD are all controlled by a Mycodo System to reach a VPD Range of 0.5 - 0.7. Light is at its lowest setting 04.04. I started to add nutrients to the water. 2.5ml of Plagron Terra Grow per 1L.

- Streching is almost fully stopped. - Had to elevate the pot of Kings Kush 10 cm more as Chemical Bride is significantly bigger in size. - A big defoliation and Lollipoping are applied on 18.06 which kind of stunned the growth for the next 1-2 days. - Humidity has been a very big problem in Berlin due multiple storms this week as it cruised around 70-85 % outside whole week. - VPD fluctuated this week between 0,75 and 1.7 kPa , averaging at 1,15 kPa. Lower than last week… - Tent temperature fluctuated around 22 at night and 26 Celsius at day time, averaging at 24.2. Slightly higher than last week even though iI have increased the inline fan speed on 16.06. - Humidity fluctuated crazy between 50-75% this week, averaging at 61.6. - This week, I kept giving increased Ph (6.8) of water as the medium Ph is still under 6 cruising around 5,8. - Trichome development has started, already seeing frosting on Chemical Bride. - White pistils are slowly turning orange on Kings Kush.

Day 51, plants were transplanted in fox farm ocean forest, so have not fed nutrients yet. just microbials and compost tea. Flipped light to 12/12.

Removed small suckers from bottoms and skirted plants near the base. I also did some defoliating in order to increase potential air flow to bud sites and reduce moisture trapping. The dew has been showing on the plants in the morning and rain has been spotting here and there. I have been trying to keep my eye out for bud rot so I can remove it before it spreads however so far so good. I noticed two of the Blue MOB plants do not seem to be doing as well, and also noticed those two plants have roots growing through the 5 gallon bags. The harvest excitement is really kicking in, it smells better and better every day!

Today is the beginning of the 5th week I see the first sings of hairs/pistles she does not need feeding so I am going to top dress her with some local bat guano and some raw bloom stage microbes in prep for the next feeding. Hopefully she gives me some more stretch. Side not I know I could be asking a lot of questions but would just rather learn the process by watching her and see what she does and when so I can better programe in the process for any other auto grow. I feed her on sunday/yesterday just to add an update. See above nutrients and additives.

Starting week 10 now. Ran into some more underwater issues as well as I think I did not supply enough dry nutes in the beginning to pot since had some slight deficiencies showing before underwatering. Getting close to harvest so just gonna ride it out. Also in process of changing the ventilation system so have had a couple of high temp issues over 80f. Under control for now till I get the setup finished and noted to add more fertilizer to next grow. Even with my errors the girls are sticky and smelling good.

Week 12 Correct flowering. The light set-up (TS 1000 x 2) seems working well for this size of tent. The plants weren’t totally healthy when they started the flowering, just recovering from a stress period. Considering that: it’s not so bad for the moment. Some yellow leaves on the base and low branches. I gave more Cal/Mag during watering. The problem of burning leaves is resolved: may be the enriched soil gave enough nutrients and add more nutrients to boost growth was a mistake. Difficult to be certain about the cause of the stress period. Flo since 3 weeks : Sour Diesel and AK47 look more Sativa than the others: vertical stretch + long intermodal distance. Little flowers and pistils for now. Gorilla is not well developed but flowers are growing : producing amazing long pistils. Bubble Gum is a pretty plant, bushy with a regular canopy for a good flowering. Green Punch was the most shocked and hard to save so the flowering is on the way for this surviving plant. CaliFunk is definitely short and solid, with not so much ramifications. Pretty flowers growing.o one of the most advanced plant in the flowering process. Watering each 2 days = CalMag + Master Grower(Flo) = CalMag + PK 13/14 = CalMag + Nettle manure’s Sprayed week 11 a specific insecticide (ok for organic cultivation) against aphids ( Colza oil) and week 12 the nettle manure’s repulse aphids and nitrogen boost.

Starting week 6 Tent is being slowly full A little bit too hot for the next days as the weather outside will climb to 36-38°C, I thnk I will bring them some CO2. I will check with the growshop. Any idea is welcome. The stretch is really impressive, 1 of them get 20cm in 7 days Waiting for the buds 😁 Day 39 I have now added CO2 with an organic boost, it is linked it to the fan. Should be a little bit better with that temperature

Hey there! Been so busy that I had to skip week 11. So this will be a summary of weeks 11 and 12. The plants have employed me alot. We are talking about operation defoliation. I defoliated half of the plants in 10 hours. First I was a little bit scared that I may have taken off too many leaves, but when I finally got the whole job done (about 1 week), the first ones had already started bushing again so I'm not worried anymore. Root rot seems to have been dealt of, which is a relief. Unfortunately tho, I'm paying a price for fucking up in the first place, in the form of some seeds emerging. This doesn't move me much tho, even I know what a pain in the ass it will be in the post trimming phase. I'm glad we got over the root rot and a couple of seeds here and there can't stress me out right now. I mean look at these BEAUTIEZ!! There's a couple of mid defoliation photos, they look harsh especially when tied up so I really can get in there. The hairs have gone very brown from all the touching I had to do defoliating. Even tho I used gloves, they got so brown, but I noticed also new white hairs growing after one week

How did you create/breed Freakshow? A. Methodical selection, line breeding, and culling is the short answer. Read our About page for more details. Q. Is it an indoor or outdoor type? A. Everything I've ever worked has been outdoors, including of course Freakshow. It has been our experience that outdoor (or sun grown, as it's recently being referred to) cultivars seem to perform extremely well under artificial conditions. This is true of seed starts or clones made from seed starts. The opposite is not always true; indoor clones often give an outdoor grower headaches because they don't always make the transition smoothly. This is due to light spectrum, temperature, and/or photoperiod changes. Yes, Freakshow will do exceedingly well indoors, and will thrive and mature just fine in a wide variety of natural environments as well, so it's definitely both and I think might even prove to be more resilient to those sorts of transitions. The different parallel lines that we are developing can be directed in a few different pathways flavorwise. Q. Why are the seeds white? A. Why is the sky blue? No, the mature seeds are shrouded by a rice paper thin membrane which has coloring and mottling on it, but it's so fragile that it disintegrates in the process of shucking. Stripped of the outer layer the seeds are very pale, nearly white. It came as no surprise that this plant would have abnormal seeds. Q. Is it a GMO? A. Wow...? Well, it's seriously "modified" and the modifications are definitely genetic, and it is an organism. (Genuinely Modified Organically!) Uh, no. No radiation, no recombinant DNA, no gene splicing or editing, no TALEN or CRISPR! These biotechnologies don't belong in the food and medicine plant industries. Q. Is it a big producer? A. The same set of variables apply to expected outcomes regarding cannabinoid levels and terpene profiles. Q.What is the lineage? A. (Bigbud x Skunk#1) x (Big Sur Holy Weed x Banana Kush). The exact heritage of any cultivar today is impossible to determine accurately. Also, considering the amount of continuous shameless hybridization that has occurred in the last 40 yrs., any modern kind could easily contain over 40 kinds. In the case of Freakshow, it's much more limited because the ancestry is largely older "Sativas" that didn't go through as much outcrossing. In the 70s in Santa Cruz, Haze was a favorite among surfers for the pure energy and I still have (greatly improved) stock of it around, simply because even when I made hybrids with it I always kept the original in pure form for obvious reasons. Q. What is the psychoactive effect like? A. Like the flavors, many people have commented that the "buzz" is somewhat different than other mainstream types out there. It's not entirely out of the scope of imagination that given that this strain has new alleles in so many other respects, that it could also contain new, unique cannabinoids, as well as new and unique terpenoids, some of which may not even be among the standard 16 or so that the average lab is testing for. Aside from the up, cerebral, energetic boost, some report a mild time/space warp effect. Creativity and idea induction should be mentioned, for sure. Freakshow has the pure energy effect and greatly alters perception to the positive side, so definitely destroys depression. Appetite suppression is a side effect, but the enjoyment of food is enhanced. I personally will attest to all of the above. We all have different receptor profiles, so these are just generalizations. And if anyone can attest to the extreme level of resistance it seems to have we'd love to hear about that as well. Q. Does it contain web-leaf genetics? A. I thought I better clarify this because there are a few people thinking that because of an article "Growing Marijuana that Doesn't look like Marijuana" that mentions that I had worked web-leaf types years ago and had eventually turned that into Freakshow. This is incorrect and I'm needing to get ahold of the writer to have him change it. When I read the piece and saw the mistake I figured it didn't matter that much, that the actual method of breeding could just remain a "trade secret". Recently, I noticed online that a posting, "Freakshow only exists because of duckfoot" by Curious Cannabis Connoisseur, where he explains how I developed Freakshow using Duckfoot. Let me explain, about 20 yrs. ago a friend gave me a jar of seeds labeled "BC Bigbud" and I sprouted flats of hundreds to look for oddities and had found one web-leaf pheno which we named Webster. It was a female so I bred it to a normal leaf male and began selecting and stabilizing a line of Webster. About 5 or 6 generations later I had nailed it to 100% webs and had also stabilized it for a deep purple color and a nice "gingerbread" terp profile. I was busy working other lines at that point so I put Webster in the library. Also, I was having a hell of a time getting a pheno of it that flowered to my satisfaction. (it seemed to finish with a limited number of calyxes). I knew I would have to outcross it to something with a big tasty bud and restabilize it for web-leaf, and I no longer had the original BC Bigbud. I still have the Webster seeds, and trust me the thought has crossed my mind to make the cross with Freakshow, but why? Why mess around crossing things just to create something even weirder? I have heard that the "Duckfoot" also doesn't bud up well so maybe there's a correlation there. Anyway, people can do what they want to and I will too, but crossing Freakshow with some low-THC crap like ABC is in my opinion idiotic. I worked extremely hard stabilizing and perfecting a beautiful new subspecies and I believe it should be kept pure. I won't go on a rant here about the rampant crossing and the lack of line-breeding in the cannabis world in the last several decades, or where this will eventually lead us, but I will say that it's not in a good direction. Bottom line....Freakshow has no web-leaf genes, it was made using top-grade tropical narrow-leaf drug (NLD) cultivars. Q.Why is Freakshow patented? A. Although I and most others (including all the folks at HSC) believe in and subscribe to the concept of "open sourcing" because sharing in cannabis genetics was always the cultural norm, it was decided that Freakshow should be protected (1) because it is a novel and unique, not a preexisting strain (or even subspecies), (2) To keep the greedy corporate big boys from exploiting it, (3) To maintain control of the genetic refinement of it in all future generations. The cannabis plant is generally growing well and is progressing as expected during the flowering stage. Despite the positive overall growth, brown spots have appeared on some of the leaves and I dont really know what it is. While the appearance of brown spots is concerning, the overall health of the cannabis plant remains good. With careful monitoring and appropriate adjustments, the plant should continue to develop successfully. It will be exciting to see how the plant progresses as it matures, even if its growth rate is somewhat slower than expected.
