~ FASTBUDS TESTER #2201 ~ Well friends, here we go on another 'canna-venture' together! The grow room has had a complete remodel and some upgrades done to it including brand spanking new 4x8 and 4x4 tents and a Trolmaster Hydro X controller along with a new Control Panel. This tester strain is one of six tester strains that FastBuds has graciously provided me with and I'm looking forward to seeing what this girl has to offer when she's grown to her full potential! One drawback of 'testers' is I have little to no information on it other than its number and that it's an autoflower... 🤪 But, it's ALWAYS a blast growing them for me because not knowing a lot allows me to just concentrate on the essentials: Light, Environment, Water, Nutrients and possibly a bit of LST... not complicated, just basics like keeping a constant temperature and RH in the tent at a level that gives a good VPD, watering when almost dry and maintaining proper light levels according to their stage of growth. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ~THE SETUP~ ~Initially seeds were lightly scuffed, then soaked for 3 hours in 78℉ distilled water after which they were transferred to moist paper towels laid out in a Jiffy Pellet plastic starter tray with lid. Underneath the tray was placed a Mars Hydro Heat Mat with Controller that was set to 78℉ where they stayed until their tap roots emerged. ~Planted into Jiffy Peat Pellets that were hydrated with distilled water warmed to 78℉ with a 7.0 ph. ~Once roots emerge from the Jiffy Pellet they're transferred to their fabric pots. ~Grown 100% organic in a 4g Gronest fabric pot and a 3g fabric pot by Wraxly filled with Mother Earth 70/30 Coco/Perlite medium and initially amended with Dr. Earth 4-4-4 / Earthworm Castings / Dr. Earth Flower Girl 3-9-4 and Coast of Maine Stonington Blend Organic Plant Food 5-2-4. ~19/5 light cycle for the entire run with supplemental UVA added during flower. Lights are controlled by a Trolmaster Hydro X controller set for a 15min Sunrise/Sunset simulation. ~Top dressing every 3-4 weeks with slow release dry amendments and Earthworm castings. ~Straight water ph'd @ 6.2-6.8 when needed and bi-weekly Compost Tea's. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Weekly Updates: 12/29- Here we go into Week One of Flower! It's been a month since this pretty lady popped out of the ground and she's looking perfect with pistils popping out everywhere! Her 4g Gronest fabric pot was still heavy when lifted, and she looked happy, so I skipped watering today and will check on her tomorrow morning after the lights come on. Since being topped roughly a week ago, she has two new shoots that are emerging and she continues looking extremely healthy with excellent vigor and have a beautiful healthy green color! She's up to 9" =/- now and even though she's beginning to flower, she's continuing to stretch which I'm attributing to her having some Sativa dominate genetics in her....This girl has long legs! 12/31- Today was a 'dry day and all I did was refill the humidifier and some canopy maintenance, tucking shade leaves and gently bending branches. It's been a little over four weeks since she was planted in her amended medium and it's time to give the microbes a good feed so they can continue to provide her with all the macro and micro nutrients she needs so, yesterday she got a good watering with 0.5g of de-chlorinated water with GreenGro's Veg, Flower, Green Aminos, Natures Brix and Granular Myco added to it @ 1.5 tsp/g and then ph'd to 6.4 @ 73℉. 01/02- Yesterday I watered her from the bottom with 0.5g of de-chlorinated water to which I added 3ml/g of Earth Juice OilyCann cal-mag to prevent any Cal-Mag issues before they arrive. I also have the HLG 650R set 36" above canopy and it's set at 60% power which is being controlled by a Trolmaster HydroX controller. The tent environment is on point with temp's running 70 when the light's off and 74℉ with the light on. I'm keeping the RH at 55-60% right now but will drop it as flowering progresses. Finally, I've been keeping the VPD in the tent running 0.85 - 1.05 which I'm happy with! 01/04- She's been doing well getting watered every other day and yesterday she received 0.5g of de-chlorinated water with 3ml/g of Fish Head Farms Fish Sh!t Soil Conditioner which was then ph'd to 6.3 @ 72℉. She's definitely a big girl and with her wide node spacing doesn't really require any defoliation, just some LST and watch her grow! She's maintaining great color, vigor and is progressing into flower nicely! It's been a big growth spurt in the last 2 weeks. Check out my VIDEO! The lights have been moved up so they are about 12 inch from the grow. The lower wattage light has not performed aswell as the cr600 1000w. Its big brother has made much thicker, stronger and taller plants. The LST has worked miracles with this plant. So has the Voodoo juice. Will use again!

Gorilla cookies and cherry cola are both hitting flower hard! The smells are pungent,the buds are sticky and the stems are strong! We’re getting nice fat buds on cherry already and gorilla isn’t too far behind her. They’ve taken very well to the feedings they’ve been given and all training done to them. So far I’m loving both of these strains 🔥🔥

As week 2 comes to an end 4 of the 5 have shown great growth 1 is behind (#5) but it also has a mutation and has a few 4 leafers on it. #3 is shorter and has wider leaves.

Had some family time last week and unfortunately caught covid with all the symptoms. I've been bed bound since Monday and today I'm starting to feel slighty better. Not asking for sympathy 🤣 but this explains why some of my girls have switched on me... Looks like all 3 Frosted Biscotti have gone into reveg. Obviously have a light leak but think I've sorted it now. The mystery is just well under feed as I've run out of Bloom and big Buds and its also gone into reveg. The other coco ones haven't gone into reveg and almost look done. Biscotti Mintz and Bahama Bussdown look 🔥 well impressed. The mutant Biscotti Mintz (soil) has come along nicely and looks amazing. I don't get why that hasn't revegged as its surrounded buy the others that have. The 2 at the back, (Bahama Bussdown) ones taken a slight knock and revegged and the other one has just got to heavy and collapsed. Again looks near enough done so now need to think of a plan of action for curing as tent will be occupied for at least another month. So I think that's it with the problems 🤣 .. Apologies again for not getting back to anyones dairys over the last 2weeks. I'm going to spend the weekend catching up with you all and sorting out the tent as long as I'm covid clear. My partner has been doing so much for my son and I I couldn't ask her to maintain the tent aswell. It has been another amazing week of the plants growing. I have been watching as the Fruity Freak leaves become progressively more fern-like, and ornamental as a result! Based on my Banizzle grows, I knew I needed to understand plant nutrients in a more meaningful way if I wanted these plants to thrive. So, I decided to get a soil test (see Ref. 1 below on how to perform a test) to understand what nutrients my plants needed. The report I received advised that I needed to add 200 lbs/acre of nitrogen, 150 lbs/acre of phosphorus, and 190 lbs/acre of potassium (see picture labeled Pic.1 (FYI you can't see these images unless you login to growdiaries)). I then researched what to do with my results (Ref. 2 helped), and I figured out that my nutrient needs of 200-150-190 fall close to a 2-1-2 ratio. I then looked at different types of organic fertilizers (see Ref. 3 and Ref. 4) and considered that I already had a 3-10-5 fertilizer (Vermibloom) on hand. I discovered Dr Earth’s Alfalfa Meal is 2-1-2 and includes beneficial bacteria and mycorrhizae (to promote healthy plant growth and disease resistance). However, I knew I would be low on nitrogen if I only used those two fertilizers. Therefore, I decided to buy some blood meal (12-0-0). I also liked that blood meal is more fast acting while the other two are more moderate. I hunted around for a solid fertilizer calculator and found an amazing tool from the University of Georgia Extension (Ref. 5). I entered all three fertilizers into the calculator, and it kicked out the exact amount of each fertilizer I needed to apply to 1 square foot (see Pic. 2). As I am using 10-gallon fabric pots (that can hold 1.5 cubic feet, but I put stone on the bottom and there’s space left at the top) I decided to use the one square foot application rate as I can always add more later, but I can’t take it away. Not only did I want to understand the nutrients I needed, but I also wanted to understand the structure of the soil (as it was not included in my test results). North Dakota State University has a nice page that discusses this (Ref. 6), and I performed a soil ribbon test (see Video 1) based on this information. I determined my soil to be medium textured (which is great), but I have seen occasional water pooling on the surface, suggesting that it may be more of a medium-fine. This means adding peat moss, coco coir, or other amendments might improve drainage (and plant hydration) and allow for roots to grow more easily. In the long run, I plan to use compost to enhance the soil structure and nutrients. I filled the bottom of my 10-gallon fabric pots with a ½” of pea stone to allow for drainage (Pic. 3). I then partially filled two 5-gallon buckets with topsoil from near where I will plant (but not in an area the roots will reach). I used a digital scale to measure the amount of fertilizers recommended by the calculator (Pic. 4, 5, and 6) and added it to one of the 5-gallon buckets (see Pic. 7). I mixed the fertilizers into the soil as evenly as possible (Pic. 8 and 9). I then poured a two-inch layer of non-fertilized soil, then peat moss, and then fertilized soil (in a roughly 2:1:1 ratio) and blended them together. I repeated this until the pot was full (getting additional soil as needed), and then I repeated the process for the other three pots. I set the filled fabric pots in my garage (Pic. 10) for two days to allow any upset bugs to flee into my garage instead of my house. I then moved the pots (wrapping them in a contractor garbage bag to prevent making a mess) into the room with the grow light. I placed a board on top of the fabric pots to insulate the plants (in their smaller pots) from the cold soil (Pic. 11). Once the soil in the fabric pots reaches room temperature, I will transplant. (Ref. 1) This video shows the method I used to take a soil sample. I didn’t have a field to test, so I took four samples from the area where I will eventually plant outdoors and blended them together. 10/5: Comparing photos from the beginning of last week and today, it was pretty decent growth. If they were stunted from being in the temporary grow bags for too long, it wasn't too badly. --Blackberry I (I call her Halle), is really purpling up well, and looking like she'll be a single uber-phat cola...no branching at all..whereas her sister is all about the branches. --Wedding Cheesecakes are consistently big and vigorous. They'll probably be the best producers of the crop. --Orange Sherbets look like clones they are so consistent in shape and leaf structures. Kinda short compared to the other varieties, but nice and bushy. --Gorilla Cookies are also identical in plant shape, but two of them are a few days ahead of the other as far as pistil production goes. Also not a very tall cultivar, but many branches. --The late/stunted Lemon Pie is praying to the sun at all times and starting to look like she belongs in the same crop. The bigger LP is gorgeous..perfect structure, the other one is catching up, but my cat keeps defoliating her.😏 ---Strawberry Pies have massive sun-blocking fan leaves that require constant tucking, but they are branching well, and a couple of them are pretty beefy. The other SP is doing fine considering her crooked trunk and slow start. 10/6: Today I noticed 9 "lone" nanners on the nodes of the crooked trunk-Strawberry Pie!😧 No clusters.. just single pollen sacs here and there.🤨 These plants have experienced no major stress at all...I'm keeping it like late-August upper-peninsula Michigan in the closet. 80f/50%RH 👌 Damnit...this is a new, stable strain, right??👈 I've seen no other SP diaries with hermaphrodites...just my fukt luck I guess.😖 I plucked them and will watch for more..and I guess I'd better keep a close eye on the other two SPs as well... I just got my wife a new 16 x 7 x 7 greenhouse frame with the green semi-translucent cover for her 4' x 12' raised bed...if i see any more sneaky nanners appear, I'll probably remove the plant(s) and move them outdoors to finish in there. I swore I'd not do any training this run, but while removing the pollen sacs I couldn't resist opening up and tieing down some branches on the hermie.🤷 10/9: I fed them.

Today is day 71 for these ladies and they are doing just amazing! Stacking up densely with a Very sweet smell , I still get hints of vanilla ! Not to much longer to go these girls few more weeks an they should be done! Stay tuned for next week ! ✌️

Being a wook i missed out to capture last few weeks on my diary, but sure enough that didnt stop planties getting bushier. Quick one and Royal kush entered flowering with Bright pistons covering future big buds. And they keep getting bigger :3 Northern lights is biggest one now reaching 17 cm is beggining to show signs of flowering with first pistons so does speedy chille, which was surprizing, now im wondering what caused it? Maybe it was few times we slept through 4.20 not turning on light for few hours or maybe it was something to do with nutrience ¯( - _-) /¯. Well all to ze moon family is looking happier and happier. Finally ph strips and water ph meter came. We measured soils ph and tap water ph, they were too high so we mixed water with a little bit of vinegar makin the right ph, watered the plants amd waited for signs >-< Planties liked the water and now look green and much healthier :3 Jah bless
